Tunisia – Swordswomen asked to boycott Israeli athletes

The Tunisian Fencing Federation asked its athletes to boycott Israeli fencers on the occasion of the World Fencing contest that took place on 11 October in Catania, Italy. One of the best fencers of the African continent, the Tunisian Sara Besbes who lives in France, was facing the Israeli Noam Mills (see photo) and decided to remain passive thus losing the fight. This boycott is the second of this competition after an Iranian athlete voluntarily withdrew. In the same vein, an Iranian chess player has refused to compete against an Israeli player in an international championship. As a result of his refusal, Ehsan Ghaem Maghami was expelled from the tournament.
